2011 Chevrolet Volt Vehicle Electrification Initiative

Chevy Dealers in the U.S. are now taking orders on the highly anticipated 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. Launching as the substitute to the long-running Chevrolet Cobalt, the newly revamped GM hopes this compact vehicle will aid them to gain lost market percentage in the compact car market after a string of a antecedently freed compact cars have failed to create public demand.

Starting at $16,995, GM is set to pit the Cruze versus their competitors’ offerings such as the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, and Ford Focus. While GM has a long way to go in terms of reestablishing dominance in this market, the Cruze most surely appears to position itself as a best-in-class vehicle.

Appealing to both the budget conscious and environmental minded buyers, the Chevrolet Cruze offers a slew of features and technical advancements that will help attract potential buyers to the vehicle. While the upcoming Chevrolet Volt is expected to fill more a niche market, the Cruze is expected to trade like wildfire, providing hybrid-like numbers to the non-hybrid car market.

With an approximated EPA rating of 40MPG, there’s no question that the Cruze was built with Fuel Efficiency in mind. The car is powered by a turbocharged 4 cylinder engine, with choices for both a standard and automatic transmission. This 112HP, 1.6L engine offers a great deal of pickup and torque, no matter of the fuel efficiency.

Inside the vehicle, you’ll find accented interior styling that is representative of the revamped GM look. Upon seeing the success of the new Buick Regal, one may observe the GM is now taking more pride in it’s interior styling, providing features like bluetooth/iPod connectivity, accented leather seats, and a modern two-tone color scheme. You’ll also find a noise-reducing, acoustic laminated, triple-sealed glass windshield, providing a whisper quiet cabin even at highway speed. The car also features general XM Radio, and OnStar*, GM’s award winning roadside assistance program.

The 2011 model will be offered in three tiers: the LS, LT, and LTZ. Like most Chevrolet model cars, pricing will vary wildly amongst the packages depending on available options, but buyers may suppose an fantastically competitory price on all models, given Chevy’s try to take market percentage from their competitors.

Hopefully this will be the automobile that reconfirms the automati giant’s role as the predominant vehicle provider in the compact car segment. With the Chevrolet Cruze now on sale, we’ll recognise very soon.
